British low-cost airline EasyJet launched a new Belgrade-Milan service on Friday with three flights a week - on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and one-way tickets starting from EUR 32, including all taxes.

The first plane was welcomed at Belgrade Airport by British Ambassador to Serbia Michael Davenport, Tanjug news agency has reported.

EasyJet Director for Italy and Serbia Frances Ousley said it was important for EasyJet to enter this market, adding that it was planning a long-term cooperation with Serbia. Ousley said a 156-seat Airbus 319 would fly between Belgrade and Milan Malpensa, stressing that passengers would be able to fly with EasyJet from Milan to 47 destinations.

Director of the Tourism Organization of Serbia Gordana Plamenac said EasyJet's arrival was very important for Serbia's tourism, adding that that organization would help promote that carrier's service.
