First request, then offer – tender procedure for selection of third mobile operator in Serbia started

The Telecommunicaton Agency will today (September 25, 2006) start to receive requests for purchase of the tender documentation in the procedure for issuing of license for the third mobile telephony operator in Serbia.

The interested companies can send their requests in the following three days, whereas the possible offers are to be submitted by November 3. Three days later, the names of the bidders will be announced and the tender winner should be known prior to November 15, after which Serbia will join the long list of countries that provided satisfying level of competition in field of mobile telephony with three operators.

It is for certain that the strongest regional players will take part in the competition for this "last chance" for entering Serbia. In addition to company "Mobilkom", "Deutsche Telekom" should be expected with "T-mobile" brand.

Also, significant player in Europe is "France Telekom" with its daughter company "Orange", as well as always announced participant - "Vodafone".
