Purchasing power of citizens of Serbia fell by 3%

The purchasing power of the population of Serbia in the first half of 2006 was lower by 3% than in the second half of year 2005, the research conducted by "Medium Galup" agency showed.

In the scope of the project about consumption in households in Serbia, it has been determined that the amount of money the families set aside for purchase was 7% bigger than in period July - December 2005, which is the index of significant price growth.

The procured quantity of hygien products fell by 6%, whereas the quantity of bought food products decreased by 1.7%. It has also been pointed out that the purchase of products that are not necessary, such as deodorants, increased by 18%.
