Stock Company Business-Production Center "Bačka Palanka"

Slovenian company "Kovis" DOO from Jesenice on Dolenjska will most probably be the first company from the countries of European Union to build its factory in Bačka Palanka. This Slovenian factory produces disc brakes for railroad cars. Recently, Slobodan Škorić, the director of Stock Company Business-Production Center "Bačka Palanka", has received the letter in which "Kovis" asks for rental of 1,800 square meters in one of the vacant production halls.

After the installation of the machines, the production would start in August, or on September 1, 2005, at the latest. The production will be semi-automated, says the Slovenians, and concerning the fact that the machines weigh about 180 tons, additional works on the hall are necessary.

The factory will be producing housings for railroad cars' bearings. After 3 to 6 months, that program would be completely moved to Bačka Palanka and 15 - 20 workers would be employed right away. As the production would grow, the number of employees would rise to 50 until 2007.
