Fiat Automobili Srbija starts exporting Fiat 500L to Great Britain

Kragujevac-based Fiat Automobili Srbija (FAS) has started exporting Fiat 500L to Great Britain, people at that company told Beta news agency, adding that the first vehicles had been exported to that country in March.

Fiat Automobili Srbija CEO Antonio Cesare Ferrara stated on March 22nd that the production of Fiat 500L for the U.S. market had started and that the sales should begin in late June or early July.

People at FAS say that Fiat 500L seven-seater will become available to buyers in the second half of the year.

The seven-seater was exclusively presented to Serbian PM Ivica Dacic and Finance and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic in the Kragujevac factory on February 18th.

Fiat Automobili Srbija will introduce additional shifts as of Monday due to increased production. The company is planning on hiring another 600 workers due to increased production and planned exports.

Fiat Automobili Srbija has produced and exported 43,000 Fiat 500L cars since last July.

Ferrara says that between 110,000 and 150,000 cars will be produced in Kragujevac in 2013.
