Minister of Foreign and Domestic Trade Rasim Ljajic today invited Turkish investors to invest in Serbia and use the benefits that Serbia offers to foreign investors.
At the opening of a Serbian-Turkish Business Forum in Belgrade, Ljajic said that the trade between the two countries was below EUR 500 million, voicing his expectation that the bilateral trade would reach EUR 1 billion next year.
He added that only 30 companies from Turkey were doing business in Serbia and that there was a great potential for improvements in economic cooperation.
The two countries have excellent political relations, high-level political dialogue, and all the signed agreements necessary for advancing economic cooperation, the minister noted.
As he stressed, the state has met all necessary prerequisites and it is now up to entrepreneurs to strengthen business ties.
The Forum stirred great interest, bringing together 35 businessmen from Turkey from the mechanical, construction, chemical, food, textile, wood and automotive industries.
The organizer of this Serbian-Turkish Business Forum, which is held in Belgrade, is the Association of Businessmen SITA, the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign and Domestic Trade and Telecommunications of Serbia.
