Russian telecommunications holding company Sistema is considering a bid to acquire the Serbian operator Telekom Srbija, RBC Daily cited Vladimir Yevtushenkov, the CEO of Sistema, as saying. As he announced, a decision on this issue will be made in the near future. According to the information on the company's website, AFK Sistema was established in 1993 and is today ranked among the top ten in overall profits and 315th on the Fortune Global 500 list.

In 2011, this company's revenues stood at USD 33 million, its assets were worth nearly USD 44 billion, and it turned a net profit of USD 218 billion.
