General manager of HVB bank in Serbia, Alexander Picker estimated that the enlargement of banks in Serbia would happen very soon.
- Serbia definitely does not need 38 banks. Poland, which is far bigger than Serbia, has only 10 banks more - said Picker.
He estimated that the latest measures of the central bank that strengthen monetary policy were the changes in the good direction and that they would not make banking operations more difficult.
- The decision of the National Bank of Serbia to leave the forming of the exchange rate exclusively to the market is a good measure. Free forming of the exchange rate will increase participation of the business banks in the market. The exchange rate risk will not be cancelled in that way, but the banks have the instruments for its reduction - said Picker.
