Macedonia joins South Stream project

Macedonian Vice Premier and Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski stated that the talks about Macedonia joining the South Stream gas pipeline project had entered the final phase.

Stavreski voiced his expectation that an agreement should be soon ratified by the Russian side and then by the Macedonian government as well.

- We were in Moscow to negotiate the details of an agreement with Gazprom. We expect the Russian side to ratify it, after which we shall do that too. Ratification mainly depends on Russia, since we can do that in two days - said Stavreski.
