Protocol on cooperation signed between Serbia and Illionis, USA

Serbian Minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning Milan Bacevic and Governor of Illinois Pat Quinn have signed a Protocol on cooperation between the Republic of Serbia and the State of Illinois.

As the Ministry of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning said in a release, the signing of this document sends a clear signal about the willingness of Serbia to cooperate with the United States, especially with the State of Illinois, where there is a significant number of immigrants from Serbia.

Also, this document reinforces cooperation with the city of Chicago, Illinois, with which Belgrade has formal cooperation through the town twinning since 2005.

Bacevic pointed out that that agreement was of strategic importance for Serbia because of the fact that most of the Serbian diaspora in the United States lived there and also because of major economic opportunities that existed in that part of America.
