The municipality of Pecinci and a Russian-Spanish consortium of companies operating in the photovoltaic industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday, which outlines in detail the terms of solar plant construction in the territory of that Srem-based municipality.
The MoU was signed by Pecinci Mayor Sava Cojcic, Deputy Director of the Russian Photovoltaic Industry Association (RPIA) Evgeny Zagorodny, RPIA Serbia representative Andrej Dimitrijevic, Exiton LLC CEO Aleksandr Karaulov and Elecnor S.A. Eastern Europe Deputy Regional Director Loreto Tejuca.
RPIA plans to invest 75-90 million euros in the preparation of designs for the construction of a 30MW solar plant on an area that spans about 240 hectares in Karlovcic Work Zone and is immediately adjacent to Asanja Work Zone, which will open the south of that municipality to new investments.
A total of 150 workers will be directly engaged in the implementation of this project, whereas another 180 people or so will be hired indirectly.
