ŠARANČIĆ: 172.5m EUR will be provided for rehabilitation of railway traffic in Serbia

General manager of company "Serbian Railways", Milanko Šarančić, stated that that company would provide 172.5m EUR for rehabilitation of the railway infrastructure and procurement of new locomotives and railway cars prior to the end of the year.

- By the end of September, the contract should be signed with the European Investment Bank on credit of 80m EUR, which should be spent on modernization of Serbian railways, mainly on the route of the international "Corridor 10" - Šarančić announced.

He expressed the expectation that the contract on approval of credit of 32.5m EUR by the Government of Spain would be signed by the end of the year, which would be spent on procurement of 30 new railway cars for passenger transportation.
