Serbia and Angola to build military hospital, medical logistics chain and pharmaceutical plant

First Deputy Prime Minister responsible for defense, security and the fight against corruption and crime and Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vucic and his Angolan counterpart Candido Pereira dos Santos Van-Dunem signed an agreement on cooperation between the two countries in the implementation of several projects, it was announced on the Serbian government's website.
The two sides agreed to build a military hospital, a medical logistics chain and a pharmaceutical plant as well as military bases in Lubango.

Short, medium and long-term training of Angolan military personnel in the field of military science and medicine was also agreed on.

They highlighted the importance of building a military hospital in Angola, whose task will be to provide specialist medical services and to facilitate the development of research capacity.

Also, they pointed out to the importance of education and training of military personnel in Angola in military science and specialization in all branches of the Army, air force and air defense, and at the tactical, operational-tactical and operational-strategic level.

Van-Dunem stressed that the reform of the security sector is one of the priorities of Angola, which in this field counts on Serbia as a partner.

- We are ready to work on the faster development of our relations in the field of defense, economic development, but also in other spheres of social life. Serbia is a European country, but we want to renew our old friendships - Vucic said.

During the meeting, a Protocol on the education of Angolan cadets in military educational institutions in Serbia was signed and the need for the earliest possible appointment of defense envoy was underlined.

Van-Dunem and Vucic will sign a joint statement on February 27th in Luanda on the talks between the delegations of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Angola.
