About 300,000 EUR from the National Investment Plan will be invested in the completion of the Church of St. Nikolaj in Valjevo. After Belgrade's Church of St. Sava, it will be the biggest Orthodox church in the Balkans. The plan is that the Bishoup of Valjevo, Milutin, be enthroned on September 24.
The Church of St. Nikolaj, in Valjevo's downtown, has the surface of 54 x 34 m. When it is finished, the cupola will be 41 m high. The cross will be six meters high. The foundations of the future church were dedicated by the Serbian Patriarch Pavle.
