A partner for Galenika is still being sought. Although Monday was the original deadline for all interested companies to announce their participation in an international tender, they will still be able to do that over the next two weeks. The Serbian government has decided to extend that deadline until March 4th. As Novosti learned, Canada's Valeant is, so far, the only company that has announced its intention to buy Galenika.

Today's issue of Blic reports that that Canadian company, behind which is Milan Panic, has already bought the tender documentation.

Unofficially, the acquisition of Galenika is also considered by SCS International from the USA, Baterje Pharma from Saudi Arabia, and Croatia's Belupo.

The Serbian government invited all interested companies on January 15th to submit their letter of intent for strategic partnership with Galenika. The deadline to apply was February 18th, whereas the deadline to submit a letter of intent was March 18th.
