Jugoimport SDPR and UAE's Earth ink agreement to develop ALAS missile system

The UAE's state-owned company Earth and Serbia's Jugoimport SDPR has signed an agreement to jointly develop ALAS missile system, which will result in expansion to the new generation of missile systems, Assistant to the Jugoimport SDPR CEO Nenad Miloradovic told Tanjug news agency today.

Miloradovic also said to Tanjug that the two companies would work together on the development and production of highly sophisticated missile systems.

- That should be a very important event for our military industry, especially for the section producing all components for missile guidance systems - he stressed.

As Miloradovic explained, that agreement also calls for cooperation in the development of other missile systems.

Serbia's missile system ALAS (Advanced Light Attack System) represents the most ambitious development project of the domestic military industry and a multi-use weapon with the range of 25 to 60 kilometers.

- Serbia will produce highly sophisticated missiles for the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Serbia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Aleksandar Vucic said on Saturday after a meeting with Crown Prince and Head of State Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, adding that the value of that agreement was approximately EUR 200 million.

Vucic and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed signed several agreements in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, including the one on interstate cooperation, Vucic's office announced.
