Gorenje kicks off production in Valjevo

Slovenia's Gorenje began regular production of cooling appliances in its new EUR 21 million factory in Valjevo on February 15th.

That factory is Gorenje's second production facility for cooling appliances in Valjevo, with the first one opened back in 2006. Both factories will this year produce close to 800,000 appliances in total.

With the construction of that new factory and an increase in production, Gorenje's product portfolio in Valjevo has been changed as well, and it now includes more technically demanding appliances as well as colored cooling appliances, which have not been produced in Serbia before.

At the same time, the number of employees has been increased. The new factory has hired 290 people from Valjevo and its surroundings, while both Gorenje factories in that city currently employ over 800 workers.
