EPS plans to revitalize 15 small hydroelectric power stations and build eight new ones - Another EUR 20 million required

The Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) plans to revitalize 15 small hydroelectric power stations in its possession and to build eight new ones, the management of that company confirmed in a release.

The company has already taken out a EUR 23 million loan for the reconstruction of its small hydroelectric power stations, whereas another about EUR 20 million are required for the construction of new power stations.

EPS also analyzes the possibility of building wind turbines in Kostolac, with the capacity of 30 megawatts, whose value is estimated at EUR 50 million.

They are also considering an option to build a 5MW wind farm in Cajetina, for which EPS has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Wattpic company.

When it comes to investment in renewable energy sources, EPS has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Uzice and Kragujevac to build power plants using waste to generate electricity.

By implementing these projects, EPS strives to actively participate in the regional electricity market and make a contribution to the growth of electricity exports.
