METRo Cash & Carry in Kragujevac - Success story

METRO Cash & Carry is present in 28 countries of Europe, Asia and Africa with 500 distributive

centers and 82.000 employed.

METRO Cash & Carry distributive centers are designed for business customers while special

attention is paid to the customers in the catering and small scale trade sectors. Quality is key characteristics the METRO is recognizable for. Quality and fresh products are guaranteed in all distributive centers due to the efficient logistics and modern organization of the quality control system established within the company.

METRO Cash & Carry, in Serbia, started up the business in the year 2004 with 350 employed,

today the number of employed increased to over 1.000. First distributive center is opened in Krnjaca - Belgrade, by the end of the year another two centers were open in Kragujevac and Zemun - Belgrade.

Decision to invest in Kragujevac was adopted after in depth analysis of the market that clearly

showed that the Region of Sumadija and Pomoravlje has large market potentials, and as such is

very attractive for big investors as METRO is.

Kragujevac center is built in four months in ideal conditions for any serious investor. Such success

could not be possible without trustful cooperation with the local authorities of the City of

Kragujevac with the Mayor, Mr. Veroljub Stevanović.

Placed in the down town Metro covers total sale area of 6.000 sq. m. And currently employs

258 workers from the territory of Kragujevac and vicinity.
