Serbian Railways and Italiana Construzioni speed up railroad construction on Corridor X

Serbia's national railway company Serbian Railways and Italy's Italiana Construzioni will strive to accelerate the construction of a new double-track railroad from the Gilje stop near Cuprija to the Paracin station, as part of the modernization of the international rail route of Corridor X.

As Serbian Railways said in a release, that was agreed Tuesday at a meeting between Serbian Railways CEO Dragoljub Simonovic and the representatives of the Italian consortium led by CEO Fabio Brunori.

The two sides also talked about deadlines for finishing the job, technical issues that need to be resolved in the following period, land expropriation, as well as the possibility of expanding the cooperation between the two companies.
