State to set aside 2.5m EUR for construction of future athletic stadium in Belgrade, construction of modern tennis center in the pipeline


The Minister of Finance, Mlađan Dinkić, the Minister of Education and Sport, Slobodan Vuksanović, and the manager of the Government's Administration for Sport, Aleksandar Šoštar, visited sports center on Banjica, before the beggining of the European Waterpolo Championship for men and women.
They checked what was done with the investments and how the works are being carried out and that occasion was used for presentation of the investment plan for sport.

Government's priorities are the construction of the athletic stadium in Belgrade and reconstruction of the sports hall DIF, which would be used by the gymnasts. It is estimated that athletics and gymnastics, as basic sports, should obtain appropriate facilities.
On the very top of the priorities is the construction of the national tennis center in Belgrade, as well as renovation of the athletic tracks in Užica and on Zlatibor, as well as construction of sports hall in Pančevo.
The Government will invest 2.5m EUR in the athletic stadium and 1m EUR in the sports hall DIF. Construction of these two facilities will last for 18 months. The Investment plan includes help in construction of outdoor courts for children, sports halls and gyms, as well as construction and reconstruction of the swimming pool.
