One step closer to navigable canal on the Morava River - Government authorizes Bacevic to sign protocol with the Chinese for feasibility study

(Milan Bacevic)
The Serbian government authorized Minister of Natural Resources, Mining and Spatial Planning Milan Bacevic on Wednesday (24 January 2013) to sign a protocol of understanding with the Chinese national company to design a feasibility study for the construction of a navigable canal on the Morava River through Serbia.
As the Serbian government said in a release after its session, Bacevic is authorized to sign that protocol with China's national company China Gezhouba Group Corporation on behalf of the government.
This canal would connect Serbia, Macedonia, Greece, Podunavlje, Central Europe, which would contribute to traffic and energy development, whereas conditions for agriculture would be significantly improved with the construction of an irrigation system alongside the Morava River.
