Acceleration of work on Prokop station in March 2013

Work on the Prokop railway station in Belgrade will commence March, it was agreed Friday (18 January 2013 at a meeting between Transportation Minister Milutin Mrkonjic, Belgrade Mayor Dragan Djilas and Construction Minister Velimir Ilic.

According to a release issued by the Ministry of Transportation, funds required to continue the work on one of the most important infrastructure projects in Belgrade are provided from the Kuwaiti loan of USD 25 million.

It is also underlined in the release that it is necessary to provide additional USD 25 million for the construction of Prokop access roads.

That job will be offered to prospective investors, the release reads. It is also added that one of such investors could be China Road and Bridge Corporation, which is currently building the Zemun-Borca Bridge.
