Vladimir Vukojevic, investment planning director at the Petroleum Industry of Serbia (NIS), stated Wednesday that that company planned to enter another two markets in the region in 2013, but he did not specify which countries it had in mind.

Speaking at the conference dubbed 'Siemens Oil and Gas Days', he reiterated that NIS had bought filling stations in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Bulgaria and that it would start developing its retail network in Romania.

- We intend to expand our business to other markets in the region as well - said Vukojevic.

As he noted, NIS currently operates or has offices in nine countries and supplies two thirds of the Serbian market with oil derivatives.

- The aim of NIS is to become a leading oil company in the region - Vukojevic stressed.

He said that unofficial data showed that NIS had invested EUR 460 million in 2012, adding that the plan was to invest another EUR 1.5 billion in business development over the next three years.

- NIS intends to develop all segments of business, including a division that will be engaged in electricity generation - Vukojevic concluded.
