Turkey's Eximbank to extend USD 300 million loan to Serbia

Turkey's Eximbank plans to grant a USD 300 million loan to Serbia for infrastructure and other projects in 2013, the cabinet of the Serbian minister without portfolio, Sulejman Ugljanin, said in a release on Tuesday.

As it was announced, Ugljanin talked with the representatives of that bank in Belgrade about a loan for the rehabilitation and construction of state roads in the Sandzak Region, and this meeting was also attended by Turkish Ambassador to Serbia Mehmed Kemal Bozay.

According to the release, Ugljanin started negotiations with the representatives of Turkey's Eximbank on a USD 40 million loan for the rehabilitation and construction of two road routes in Sandzak, stretching from Novi Pazar to Aljinovici, and the reconstruction of a state road between Pazariste and Tutin.

- Rehabilitation and construction of these two roads is of vital importance for the overal economic and social development of this region as well as the whole country - reads a statement from the meeting between Ugljanin and a delegation of Eximbank.

It was announced that the talks about that credit line would be resumed in February in Ankara, at the time when a session of the Mixed Committee for Economic Cooperation between Serbia and Turkey will be held.
