The largest market chain in Europe, France's Carrefour, has decided to buy Croatia's Idea Serbia, which is currently owned by Croatian businessman Ivica Todoric, the Belgrade Alo! has learned. Serbia's Frikom was yesterday sold to Croatia's Ledo, and both companies are the property of Todoric's Agrokor.

After waiting for many years, the world's second largest retail chain is going to buy a Croatian retailer and, thus, enter the market of Serbia. Although it has been speculated over the last few years that Croatia's Agrokor may be taken over by leading European trading giants, Alo! claims that a deal has already been closed between Agrokor, that is, its companies Konzum in Croatia and Idea in Serbia, and the French company.

By the way, France's Carrefour, the world's second largest market chain covering a third (37.7 percent) of the European retail market, is already present in the region, that is, in Albania, Macedonia and Romania.

On the other hand, as it was announced, Croatia's Ledo took over Agrokor's other company, Serbia's Frikom.
