First Choice is calling for interested candidates to apply for the £20,000 a year job before the end of February after the previous incumbent, Tommy Lynch, chose to “hang up his trunks” after four years, The Daily Telegraph reports.
The role will involve travelling to the firm’s 20 SplashWorld resorts during the summer months, and riding and rating the slides and attractions. A spokesman added that there would be other facets to the role, including using social media to promote the water parks.
Candidates should be “passionate and enthusiastic”, according to the tour operator, and are being encouraged to upload a 30-second video of themselves as part of their application.
A shortlist of five candidates will have a final interview at a water park in April, with one successful applicant receiving a six-month contract. On top of the £20,000 salary, travel expenses will be covered, and they will receive a free one-week holiday for two.
Luke Gaskins, First Choice Head of Holiday Innovation, said: “This is an amazing job for one lucky person who’ll get to escape the 9-5 and instead spend their days rating slides and pools in the sun this summer.”
