Benlian Foods has opened a new confectionery plant in the industrial zone Istok (EI). This facility, which took only eight months to build and equip, employs 80 workers.

Benlian Foods Deputy CEO Bojan Vukadinovic stated that another 20 or so people would be hired within the next few months.

- The plan is to commission new production lines, which will result in production growth and new vacancies. This new plant will be monthly producing 200 tonnes of confectioneries including Rocky Rice, pralines and chocolate bananas - said Vukadinovic.

Benlian Foods received support from the Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) and local authorities to open the new plant.

The City of Nis allotted a 4,350 square meter building land to this company, which is owned by Raffi Karapet Benlian, to build a 1,680 square meter factory on it.

As eKapija wrote earlier, about EUR 1.3 million were invested in the construction of this confectionery plant, whereas the announced value of its annual production is EUR 3 million.
