EPS announces transformation of five power distributors - New hirings possible by end-2013

(Aleksandar Obradovic)
In addition to an increase in electricity price, the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS) also announces big changes in the organization of this public company.
People at EPS explained to B92 that there would be no layoffs this year, but they said that electricity price would have to grow because the company was still in the red. Director Aleksandar Obradovic listed some of the changes to expect:
- EPS operates five power distributors - Elektrovojvodina, EDB, Centar, Jugoistok and Elektrosrbija. The new Law on Electrical Engineering stipulates that these five companies should be transformed into two: a distribution system operator, which will be tasked only with the physical maintenance of the grid, and a public supplier, which will supply electricity to tariff consumers.
