Skoda Praha Invest from Czech Republic has expresed interest in building a 500 MW power generation unit within the steam power plant Pljevlja, Analitika web portal has reported. They submitted a Letter of Intent in November 2012 to notify the Montenegrin government of their interest in implementing that project.
As a rule, a Letter of Intent contains neither a technical specification of the project nor a price of the construction of the second power unit. Unofficially, about EUR 1 billion is required to valorize the Pljevlja thermal basin.
China`s China Gezhouba Group, too, is interested in building the second unit within Pljevlja Thermal Power Station. This company submitted its offer in early October 2012.
