The Energy Agency Council has given its consent for an increase in the prices of natural gas for public consumption, a decision on which was made by the Managing Board of the public company Srbijagas. The Agency has checked the validity of that request by examining the documentation and data submitted by Srbijagas during December 2012, the Agency said in a release.
The average price at which public suppliers are able to buy natural gas under these conditions has been increased by 10.38 percent to RSD 36.7 per cubic meter, inclusive of transportation costs. But even this price does not completely cover the current costs of gas imports.
The average increase in the prices of gas for public consumption is 9.9 percent (to RSD 39.13/m3) for all buyers connected to the distribution system of Srbijagas and 9.3 percent (to RSD 41.32/m3) for households.
The new gas prices for public consumption will become effective on 15 January 2013 for all buyers connected to the Srbijagas distribution system, whereas the new prices for households will take effect on 1 February 2013.
