The latest initiative for privatization of Mining-Smeltery Basin "Bor" has arrived from Australia from "View mining" Corporation from Perth, the owner of two nickel mines and one gold deposit.
Its offer, as Miloš Bošnjaković, the executive manager of that company, says, includes procurement of property of the Basin, which is estimated to 300m USD, and the investments worth 600m USD.
"View mining" was first interested in procurement of Majdanpek-based copper mines "Čoka Marič" and "Severni Revir". However, Bor-based mines "Veliki Krivelj", "Cerovo", "Jama" and "Borska reka" are of special interest to them for the revival of production.

- Since "Bor" is a mining company, company "View mining" reluctantly decided to bid on the tender for privatization of Smeltery. The key moment was the announcement of the Minister of Economy of Serbia, Predrag Bubalo, that the priority in the privatization of Mining-Smeltery Basin "Bor" will be given to the companies who offer to buy entire system - Bošnjaković explains.
The executive manager of "View mining", which has offices in London and Belgrade, points out that the company is ready to employ all 4,693 workers of "Bor", whereas the biggest rival in the privatization of Mining-Smeltery Basin is, according to them, Canadian company "Dundee precious metals" from Toronto, the concessionaire on Crni vrh mountain, in the vicinity of Bor.
