VAT refund period shortened

Serbian Finance and Economy Ministry has made a decision to shorten the value added tax (VAT) refund period from 15 to 10 days for dominant exporters and from 45 to 30 days for all other taxpayers, Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic stated today.

The minister said that the Tax Administration had been notified of that decision, adding that the ministry had decided to assign the status of dominant exporter to all companies exporting more than 50 percent of their production.

As Dinkic added, the Serbian government will consider these provisions tomorrow, at its regular session, whereas a session dedicated to the platform on Kosovo will be held January 8th.

Dinkic noted that the government would focus on helping SMEs in 2013.
