Walking all day to create snow art

Every winter since 2004, artist Simon Beck from the UK spends day plodding through the snow in raquettes (snowshoes) along the frozen lakes of Savoie, France, creating these sensational patterns of snow art.

It takes this 54-year-old between six hours and two days to finish each piece, which is typically the size of three soccer fields!

The geometric forms range in mathematical patterns and shapes that create stunning, sometimes 3D, designs when viewed from higher levels.
