FAS exported 30,000 500l cars in 2012

Fiat Automobili Srbije (FAS), a joint venture of Italy's Fiat and the Serbian government, produced 30,000 Fiat 500L (five-seat) cars this year and exported almost all of them, the head of FAS, Antonio Cesare Ferrara, told Beta news agency on Thursday.

He also added that a seven-seat version and a version for the US market were under development.

- It took us three months to produce 37 extended Fiat 500L cars and 120 cars for the US market - said Ferrara.

As he stressed, preparations for the industrial production of these two models will take place over the next two weeks, during which all machines will be set accordingly. According to him, the factory in Kragujevac is planned to produce 30 vehicles per hour after the New Year.
