Italians interested in tollgate and railway modernization in Serbia

Florence-based Satrel, a company specialized in road and railway infrastructure works, is interested in establishing a cooperation with Serbia, the Ministry of Transportation said in a release.

This Italian company wants to design a pilot project and prepare project documentation for the modernization of tollgates in Serbia, while there is also a possibility of Satrel participating in the electrification of railway infrastructure, considering that a big investment cycle and a thorough and comprehensive reconstruction of railroads in Serbia are in the pipeline for the next year.

As agreed at yesterday's meeting between Transportation Minister Milutin Mrkonjic and Satrel representatives, people from the Serbian Ministry of Transportation and the managers of the Italian company will have a meeting in Florence in the second half of January 2013 to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Representatives of Satrel expressed readiness to become a permanent partner to the Serbian construction sector and take a more significant part in the implementation of numerous projects in the field in which they have been operating in Italy and many other countries worldwide for several decades now.
