A draft of the new regulation on feed-in tariffs for renewable power producers will be presented Monday, December 10th, Assistant to the Serbian Energy Minister Dejan Trifunovic announced.

Trifunovic said at a press conference on Friday, occasioned by a meeting of a task force of the Sustainable Energy Development Regional Initiative (SEDRI), that there were no radical changes in the new regulation on feed-in tariffs.

- Support to the use of renewable energy source continues. Small hydroelectric power stations and biomass are in the focus of a strategy and the National Action Plan (for renewable sources of energy), and that will also be reflected in feed-in tariffs - said Trifunovic.

As he said, there will be certain changes in tariffs, but they won't be so dramatic as it is the case now in the countries of the region and Europe, especially when it comes to the support to the use of solar and wind energy.

He reminded that Serbia had took on the obligation to increase the share of renewable energy in the overall consumption from 21.2 to 27 percent by 2020.

Trifunovic noted that there would be certain changes regarding solar energy, aimed at promoting the use of solar energy in facilities, that is, installation of solar panels on buildings.

He also said that a draft of the national action plan for the use of renewable energy sources and an initiative related to the promotion of investment in small hydroelectric power plants would also be presented Monday.

A list of 78 key energy and environmental projects will be presented on December 14th, whereas a draft law on energy efficiency should be presented on December 18th, he added.
