Construction of a Grundfos factory in Indjija is completed, and the Danish company ceremoniously took over this facility from the local contractor Energogroup on December 1st. Jim Toft Nielsen, CEO of Grundfos Serbia, says to our web portal that the opening ceremony is planned to take place in May 2013.

- The new factory in situated in Indjija's industrial zone, right next to a highway. It is a modern and LEED GOLD building, and we are very proud of having a competent team capable of building a highly user-friendly facility in 10 months. Trucks loaded with lines and equipment to be installed in the new factory started arriving as early as December 3rd – Jim Toft Nielsen says and adds that they plan to hire 350 people by 2014.

According to our interlocutor, Grundfos has big plans for Serbia.

- We will continue to produce our most popular and best-selling product - a small circulating pump for heating and circulating water. The pumps that Grundfos produces in Serbia are used to circulate water in heating and sanitary systems. Our plan for the future is to start producing pumps for wastewater as well.

As our interlocutor explains, pumps will be mainly exported to Russia and the European Union.

The company plans to invest EUR 50.8 million in the first phase.
