Dismissals in company "Mobi 63"

The branch trade union of transportation and telecommunications "Nezavisnost" has announced that, in spite of promises after sale to Norwegian "Telenor", there were dismissals of workers from company "Mobi 63". This trade union has announced union struggle, including stoppage of work, if the dismissals continue.

According to that trade union, on the occasion of the dismissal, the employees of company "Mobi 63" experience rough ignoring and humiliation and the dismissals are handed out by the manager of company Mark Eckhout by order of the old Austrian management of the company, which will leave the company in some ten days or so.

The Secretary of the branch trade union Miloš Grabundžija says that 46 workers have been dismissed and, instead of offering them transfer to "Mobi 63", they were offered severance pays in amount of six monthly gross salaries. They are left to decide prior to August 23.

The manager of Sector for strategy, development and marketing of "PTT Srbija", Željko Ivanji, claims that Ekhaut has the authorizations to brake contracts on work of the employees of "Mobtel", but he points out that that public company will ask for the information why is it done and according to what criteria.

Trade union "Nezavisnost" has reminded that the Minister of Finance, Mlađan Dinkić, promised that all employees of "Mobtel" would be hired by the new company and that they would not have smaller rights than the ones they had before.
