Chinese investors have offered the Serbian government to implement two projects under a public-private partnership - Prokop railway station and the Pozega-Cacak highway section on Corridor XI.
FSDI, the sixth largest construction company in the world, has offered to co-finance the construction of aforementioned highway section and Prokop with the Serbian government in exchange for the right to collect tolls or rent 150,000 square meters of office space.
This construction model would be beneficial to both taxpayers and the country's debt balance, analysts claim.
This is the first time that a foreign company has offered the Serbian government a public-private partnership.
FSDI, which employs 240,000 people, had the turnover of EUR 50 billion in 2011 alone. This company built the world's longest railroad connecting China and Tibet (2,350 kilometers long) and the Beijing-Shanghai railroad, where trains travel 486 km/h.
