Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev agreed Monday in Baku that agriculture, food industry, construction and energy were the fields in which it was possible to improve the bilateral economic cooperation, it was announced on the Serbian government's website.

Ljajic and Aliyev voiced their hope that commodity exchange between the two countries and Azerbaijan’s total investment in the Serbian economy would experience growth in the near future since that was in the interest of both countries.

According to them, the political relations between Serbia and Azerbaijan are at the highest level possible, which is supported by the fact that a strategic partnership agreement between the two countries will be signed in the first half of next year.

Ljajic, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, also met with Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.

Together with Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev, the Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia opened an economic forum in Baku, attended by more than 25 companies from Serbia and approximately 75 companies from Azerbaijan.
