Official negotiations about production of new Fiat's model in Zastava schedulled for beginning of September in Turkey

At the beginning of September, in Turkey (Bursa), the meeting should be held between the representatives of the Government of Serbia and the management of Zastava Vehicles on one side and the management of Fiat on the other side. That will be the official start of the negotiations about production of new Fiat's model of automobile in Kragujevac. It is the passenger vehicle that will be used mainly as a family or official automobile.

Fiat built a factory in Turkey in which it will be producing that new model, but it is interested in entrusting part of the production to Zastava. If the negotiations with Fiat turn to be success, the new automobile will appear on Serbia market, as well as on the markets of the former Yugoslav republics, except in Slovenia, and in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Albania and, maybe, Greece.

It is pointed out that the preparations for commencement of assembling of domestic "punto" (model "zastava 10") go as planned in the Automobile Factory in Kragujevac. The preparation of the line for assembling of "zastava 10" is in progress, whereas the space in unit "Karoserija" is ready for installation of Fiat's body tools, which will be used for production of parts of frames of domestic "punto".
