Nova Agrobanka's depositors withdraw EUR 3.8 million from Postal Savings Bank

People who had had a savings account in Nova Agrobanka, which was taken over by the Postal Savings Bank on Monday due to bankruptcy, withdrew EUR 3.8 million worth of deposits during the last week, Svetlana Lalovic, head of the savings department at the Postal Savings Bank, told the newspaper Press.

- All people who had had an instant access savings account in Nova Agrobanka were able to withdraw all their money on the first day, Monday, while those with term deposits can withdraw the money on the day of expiration of the fixed term or a day or two after filing a request for termination of their term deposits - said Lalovic.

As it was announced earlier, the Postal Savings Bank assumed EUR 392.3 million liabilities of Nova Agrobanka, of which EUR 238.5 million worth of insured deposits would be covered with the cash from the Deposit Insurance Agency in order for all depositors and clients of Nova Agrobanka to be able to freely dispose of their deposits.
