The Free Trade Agreement with Russia was signed on August 28, 2000, and, in accordance with the Constitution, it became the "property" of Serbia after the separation of Serbia and Montenegro. However, in some Russian customs offices, the isolated problems related to application of the Agreement aroused, so that some Serbian exporters faced situation in which they have to pay the duty for the goods that are on the list of duty-free products. Russian Federal Customs Service sent a notice in which it confirmed that the Agreement was still in effect.
Russian side promises that all misunderstandings will be eliminated and advises that the exporters from Serbia, if they face some problems, should turn to Russian Federal Customs Service (www.customs.ru), the Embassy of Serbia or the Office of Chamber of Commerce of Serbia in Moscow (++99 70 95 147 85 06, ktb@rosmail.ru )
