Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Abdulwahab Al-Bader today notified Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic that the Fund’s Executive Board had given the green light the day before to a €25 million loan to Serbia for the construction of Prokop railway station in Belgrade.

The deputy prime minister’s office says in a statement that apart from Ukraine, Serbia is the only European state to have been granted a loan by the Kuwait Fund in 2012.

The loan agreement will be officially signed in Belgrade on 28 November 2012.

On behalf of Serbia, the agreement will be signed by Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, while on Kuwait’s behalf it will be signed by KFAED Director General Abdulwahab Al-Bader.

During the visit to Serbia in November, the KFAED delegation will be acquainted with other infrastructure projects of the Serbian government, which were mentioned two days ago in the talks between Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Ljajic and Kuwaiti Prime Minister Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
