Thanks to the Donation of USAID and IRD the Agricultural Cooperative "Sremac Product" From Sid, Has Got the New Tractor With Append Equipment

Mr Slavenko Djokic, the Manager of the Porgram Operations and Administration in the Organization for International Releif and Development , will deliiver the tractor with append equipment to the agricultural cooperative "Sremac Produkt" in Sid on August 10, 2006.

On that occasion in the facilities of the cooperative (Vuk Karadzic str.29, Vasica in Sid) the short festive ceremony of takeover will be held at the beginning at 12,00 h same day.

This cooperative has 10 members and additionally manages the operation with 141 farms, that are in possession of 300 ha of the menageable land. The cooperative produces flour, soya, corn, barley and sugar beet, but they also organize the transport and sale of the products at the market.

As they have been in lack of modern technologies and equipment for many years before, the representatives of the cooperative took a part at the open competition published by IRD and has got the necessary funds for buying the tractor of the high quality with append equipment. This new equipment will enable them to organize on time the sugar beet harvest and other agricultural products, with low costs and augmenting the production and to improving the profit.

The donation was enabled by the US Agency for International Development and Economic Programs (CRDA), that are organized in Western Serbia by the Organization for International Releif and Development (IRD).

The total value of the project is 31.558 US $, of which the USAID invested 23.168 US $ for buying the tractor, and the Cooperative has bought three ploughs, one disc harrow and reconstructed the stowage for the equipment in the amount of 8.390 US $
