New Internet search engine in Serbia "Pogodak", largest foreign investment in Internet contents in Serbia - 1 million EUR

On April 1st 2005 new internet browser www.pogodak.co.yu. “arrived” in Serbia. Browser is localized for Internet space of Serbia and Montenegro, and it is a part of the mission of Slovenian company Noviforum (45 permanently employed experts), which wants to develop a network of local browsers. Encouraged by great performance of Slovenian browser www.najdi.si in 2004. they established Internet browser for Croatia, and now in Serbia. By the end of 2005. this network will include local Internet browsers for Bosnia and Herzegovina and Macedonia, and the net will soon be broadened to Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary. Goal for this part of Europe is – 12 local browsers.
Company Noviforum is planning to invest over 1 million EUR into Internet content development of Serbia and Montenegro overseen by company Pogodak ltd. Over the next 3 years.
Advantage of this browser is the elimination of unwanted content showing up on your screen – as a browsing result only information on contents that are asked for can be found on domestic Internet. It is adjusts to Cyrillic’s, Latin case, and it takes into consideration grammar and case. This means that whoever wants to find e Kapija will get all the results where words e Kapija, e Kapiju, e Kapije… are mentioned. Words that have same or similar meaning to foreign words are excluded from the search.
When it begun with its “work” browser Pogodak in Serbia and Montenegro had over 4.500.000 internet pages in its content, and was visited by 5000 visitors in first 3 days.
This is yet another example of a great Serbian Slovenian business relationship. In 2004 export of Serbia to Slovenia grew 73% and direct investments from Slovenia grew for 80%, which is very respectable.
Speakers on the presentation were: :
Peter Brecl, CEO for International relation in Noviforum,
Bojan Rendulić, executive officer of Pogodak ltd.
Msc Slaviša Mijušković, Serbian Deputy Minister of Science and Environmental Protection
Bojan Mikec, economical adviser in the Slovenian Embassy in Serbia and Montenegro
and Dragan Varagić, expert in Internet marketing.
