(Phoenix)

The 100th anniversary of the first flush cistern, designed by Albert Emil Gebert, is celebrated this year. The model Phoenix represented a real novelty in the field of sanitary engineering in 1912. At that time, nobody could foresee that that wooden box would achieve such a success and push the limits of hygiene maintenance and sanitary safety and quality in general.

For centuries, sanitary hygiene had been in the focus of attention of all innovators, who were trying to find the right solution for a quality sanitary waste disposal system and a perfect hygiene safety. The Swiss manufacturer Geberit accepted the challenge and has been gaining experience and developing state-of-the-arts flush cisterns for years now. The first model of flush cistern was an invention that forever changed the concept of use of sanitary space.

Today, flush cisterns must meet all esthetic demands of users in addition to working impeccably. For nearly a half century, a flush cistern is not necessarily a box placed on the wall, but it can also be hidden inside the wall. Lately, flush tank has also become available as a true designer piece.

Bathrooms today

Lately, bathrooms have become a real small exhibition space abundant with details, colors and designer decorations. Flush cisterns are now almost impossible to see. Harmony and design are today equally important as the quality of products.

But even hundred years after the first patent for a flush cistern was registered, nobody can still imagine a WC without one. The principle of operation of this unique and innovative product is always the same, only the main materials used, design and the level of technical perfection are different, as a result of modernization and technology improvement. Nobody could even dream that one such simple product would leave a deep mark and become inevitable in everyday life. It allows us to easily maintain our hygiene every day, without actually noticing how hard that was 100 years ago.
