Podravka takes over Serbian companies?

Serbia is a very significant market for Croatia's Podravka, and we are considering several potential partners for cooperation or takeover, Chairman of Podravka's Managing Board Zvonimir Mrsic said Wednesday.

Mrsic did not want to reveal the names of Podravka's potential partners from Serbia.

As he pointed out, Podravka experiences a big problem in Serbia with unstable Dinar exchange rate because the sales revenues in dinars are growing, but inflation eats them and "when changed to euros, you lose money."

Talking with the press on the premises of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), he pointed to a great importance of economic cooperation and integration between the countries in southeast Europe, stressing that it was one of the ways to come out of the economic crisis.

- What our governments can do is to encourage cooperation within the region and boost each country's exports - said Mrsic.
