Civilian airport in Užice? 5 million EUR needed for reconstruction

On several meetings and negotiations Regional Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Resources, Army of Serbia and Montenegro and community of Užice, Bajina Bašta and Čajetina agreed upon activating the army airport for civilian purposes.

Taking into consideration that tourist centers such as Zlatibor, Tara, Zlatar and Mokra Gora are very close, using the army airport for civilian needs would contribute to tourism in this area. Besides that, airport Ponikve would have a grate impact on the economy.

For the reconstruction of Ponikve airport, damaged during NATO bombing in 1999, and adjustment for civilian needs 5 million EUR is needed.
